Sachsenhausen

Yesterday we visited the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp in Oranienburg, a northern suburb of Berlin. There's not too much to say about it, except that it was MUCH bigger than either Erica or I had thought. There were special exhibits all over the place, with plaques and dedications and memorials scattered throughout. We didn't get a chance to see everything, even though we were there for nearly 5 hours.

We didn't do much else yesterday, because it took over an hour to get to Oranienburg from the hostel. But we did eat at this little outside asian food restaurant that was in Oranienburg, the Vietnam Bistro. It was surprisingly good and, because we weren't in Berlin anymore, much cheaper than anything else we have eaten so far.

Today we're going to see the Berlin Wall Memorial. After that, we're packing up our stuff and heading to the train station to catch our train to Paris. I'm not sure what our internet situation will be like in Paris, but we'll try to keep the blogs coming just like they have been. But we'll be on a train overnight tonight, so it may take us a little longer than usual to post the next blog.

Until then!
